Claims

Claim Lodgement

All losses or incidents which may result in a claim should be reported as soon as practicable after the event to our staff at Strata Insurance Solutions.

To get a claim underway please contact us by phone on 1300 554 165 or email us the following information:

  • Date of Loss;
  • Description of event;
  • Quotes/Invoices for repairs (if available);
  • Bank details for Body Corporate (Bank Name, Account Name, BSB, Account Number)
  • Other supporting documents (such as reports, photos etc)

Emergency Make Safe

claim image 2During business hours, we recommend contacting us on 1300 554 165 if you have a claim that requires an emergency make safe, so we can advise on the best course of action.

Outside of business hours, for claims involving 1 lot only, the lot owner is responsible for maintaining their lot and the lot owner should appoint a make safe contractor and we recommend contacting the insurers 24/7 afterhours contacts below.

Outside of business hours for claims involving multiple lots, it can sometimes be more appropriate for a lot owner, onsite manager or representative of the body corporate/owners corporation to engage a make safe contractor for the entire makes safe job (rather than each owner contacting a make safe contractor). Make safe claims can often include a component of damage to property insured by strata (building) and damage to property not insured by strata (contents - including carpet and other temporary flooring). To avoid dispute between lot owners, the body corporate & insurer over who is responsible for what cost, it is recommended contact is made via the insurer’s 24/7 afterhours contact listed below.

Claims Management

We believe that the true test of the value and integrity of our relationship is our fast and efficient claims service and our rock solid claims advice. Strata insurance Solutions do not charge claims management fees.  The premium you pay at renewal completely covers all costs of handling management of claims big or small.

When you need to make a claim we will provide you with a complete and hassle free beginning-to-end claims management service. This extends to:

Claim lodgement: In the event of a claim, contact us and we will lodge it with your insurer on your behalf. We will ensure as much required information is provided to the insurer as needed to cut out any delay caused by going back and forth for information. Additionally, if a claim form is required we can complete it with you over the phone to save you time and hassle.

Repair: Where your claim involves property damage, we will assist you to find a repairer who will restore the property to its pre-damage state.Follow up: If your claim is unnecessarily delayed by your strata insurance company, we will follow up and monitor your claim for you and provide you with updates on its progress.

Settlement: At settlement we will verify the payment amount to ensure you are settled the correct amount and we can arrange payment directly to the repairer.

Loss Minimisation

Action should be immediately taken to protect property from further damage but no action should be taken to repair damage until instructed by Strata Insurance Solutions, the Insurer or Loss Adjusters.

Liability and Indemnity Claims

In general terms no admission of liability should be made to any party in any form whatsoever. All correspondence, writs, summonses and demands should be sent to Strata Insurance Solutions immediately so we can manage the situation for you thoroughly.
